Sustainability

As parents, one of our responsibilities is to use eco-friendly diapers for our babies. These diapers are made from sustainable and biodegradable materials, which reduce their negative impact on the environment. It is essential to consider sustainability, as we are responsible for preserving the world we leave for our children.
By using eco-friendly diapers, we can ensure that we play our part in conserving our natural resources and reducing waste. We must prioritize sustainability now and educate our children on its importance to ensure they do the same in the future.
Using eco-friendly diapers may seem like a small gesture, but collectively, our actions can make a significant positive impact on the environment.

Your baby will love what
nature accepts.

Our mission is to promote the use of non-toxic materials and the use of renewable and compostable materials to create safer products and drive positive change.

Use of resources

At Eco By Meshoo, we take production seriously by partnering with responsible manufacturers who comply with their country's laws, regulations, and our specific requirements.

Our requirements include a code of conduct, ensuring a safe working environment, protecting the rights of the manufacturer's employees, and a strict no-child labor policy to minimize the impact on the environment.

Bamboo

Although there have been some sensationalized headlines, it's essential to know that bamboo plants are an excellent source of biomass that can be safely transformed into viscose for use in hygiene products.

With their fast-growing nature, they also enhance soil quality and produce more mass per acre than standard trees, while storing four times more CO2 and releasing 35% more oxygen.

Biodegradable

The terms biodegradable and compostable are commonly used to describe organic materials breaking down in a particular environment, often associated with environmentally friendly products.

Biodegradable materials refer to substances that can undergo biological anaerobic or aerobic degradation, producing CO2, H2O, methane, biomass, and mineral salts, depending on the environmental conditions. Microorganisms are present in the environment, and organic waste is essential in biodegradation.

Composting

Composting is the process of microbial digestion that breaks down organic waste into compost, which has several benefits, including improving and fertilizing soil. To go through composting, organic waste requires the correct heat, water, and oxygen levels. In a pile of organic waste, millions of tiny microbes consume the waste, transforming the organic materials into compost.

Biodegradable Diapers or Compostable Diapers ?

As a parent, it is only natural that you want your baby to have safe, comfortable and environmentally friendly diapers as well. The latest American studies indicate that American landfills amount to 4.1 million tons of disposable diapers every year! However, it can be confusing to navigate the world of eco-friendly diapers, with different marketing terms and definitions. Although we can't cover them all, the terms "biodegradable" and "degradable" are particularly important to understand. When it comes to biodegradable nappies, as defined by the US Federal Trade Commission, no disposable nappies fit and code. Although Eco by Meshoo uses plant-based materials, our diapers are not 100% biodegradable and cannot return to their natural shape. On the other hand, our diapers are compostable. Composting is the process of breaking down biodegradable materials into a stable, useful form. But it is even more important to compost baby diapers in a regulated facility for safety reasons. However, not all disposable diaper companies are transparent in their eco-friendly claims, so it's essential to read the fine print and avoid falling into "green brainwashing."

  • Why can't Eco By Meshoo be 100% plant-based?

It would be great to have everything be 100% plant-based, but it's not
always feasible. Some products require certain technical properties that can
only be achieved through the use of synthetic materials. That being said, we
strive to use plant-based materials as much as possible and are constantly
exploring new options to reduce our environmental impact.
